How do I install TrollStore on a device?

If you run into any issues, try again in a network environment that is not subject to restrictive traffic filtering.

Supported versions​

  • iOS 14.0 – 16.6.1
  • iOS 16.7 RC (20H18)
  • iOS 17.0.0

iOS 16.7.x and iOS 17.0.1 or higher cannot install TrollStore.

iOS 15.1 and below​

iOS 15.2 – 16.6.1, 16.7 RC (20H18), 17.0.0​

Use TrollRestore to install TrollStore (TrollHelper) onto the device.

Preparation​

  • Download the matching desktop build of TrollRestore to your computer
  • Windows users must install iTunes beforehand, or install the Apple device drivers via i4Tools
  • Make sure Find My iPhone is disabled on the device (Settings → [iCloud account] → Find My)
  • Make sure the official Apple Tips.app is installed on the device (from the App Store)

Installation steps​

  1. Launch TrollRestore from a terminal on your computer
  2. When prompted for an app name, enter Tips and press Enter
    • If you see Failed to find the removable system app 'Tips.app', install the official Tips.app from the App Store first
    • If you see Find My must be disabled in order to use this tool, disable Find My iPhone under Settings → [iCloud account] → Find My
  3. Wait for the device to reboot automatically
  4. After reboot, open Tips on the device
  5. Tap Install TrollStore and wait for the respring
  6. Return to the Home Screen and launch TrollStore
  7. Open TrollStore → Settings → Install Persistence Helper and select Tips to install the persistence helper (this step is important)

Open Tips → tap Refresh App Registrations.
