What should I do if XXTouch repeatedly asks to respring or cannot communicate with the server or daemon?

Try the following according to your environment.

If installed via Sileo

Try these one by one:

Attempt 1

Tap Cancel, then choose a script.

Attempt 2

Reinstall (no need to uninstall first) the latest XXTouch from Sileo and ensure there are no errors. Reboot the device (you may need to reactivate the jailbreak).

Attempt 3

  1. Install OpenSSH via Sileo and ensure no errors occur (skip this if it is already installed).
  2. In Sileo, choose to uninstall Substitute or ElleKit and take a screenshot of the uninstall list. Do NOT confirm yet; read carefully:
    • This will also uninstall many tweaks including XXTouch. In theory it is safe, but we cannot assume responsibility; if you have concerns, stop here and consult a professional.
    • After understanding, decide whether to confirm uninstall.
  3. Install XXTouch from the source (you may need to reboot and reactivate the jailbreak) and ensure no errors occur.
  4. Reboot again (you may need to reactivate the jailbreak).
  5. If needed, reinstall the items removed in step 2 according to your screenshot.

Attempt 4

Delete /var/mobile/Media/1ferver/caches/daemon_cache.db and reboot (you may need to reactivate the jailbreak).

If installed via Cydia

Try these one by one:

Attempt 1

Tap Cancel, then choose a script.

Attempt 2

Reinstall (no need to uninstall first) the latest XXTouch from Cydia and ensure there are no red errors (see Install/update fails in Cydia (red/yellow text)). Reboot (you may need to reactivate the jailbreak).

Attempt 3

  1. Install OpenSSH via Cydia and ensure no red errors occur (skip this if it is already installed).
  2. Refresh Cydia sources and update all base dependencies, ensuring no red errors occur.
  3. Reinstall (no need to uninstall first) the core components and XXTouch, ensuring no red errors occur:
    • iOS below 11: Cydia Substrate, UIKit Tools, and XXTouch
    • iOS 11 and later: Tweak Injector, Substitute, Substrate Compatibility Layer, UIKit Tools, and XXTouch
  4. Reboot the device (you may need to reactivate the jailbreak).

Attempt 4

  1. In Cydia, choose to uninstall Cydia Substrate (on iOS 11 and later, uninstall Substitute) and take a screenshot of the uninstall list. Do NOT confirm yet; read carefully:
    • This will also uninstall many tweaks including XXTouch. In theory it is safe, but we cannot assume responsibility; if you have concerns, stop here and consult a professional.
    • After understanding, decide whether to confirm uninstall.
  2. Install XXTouch from the source (you may need to reboot and reactivate the jailbreak) and ensure no red errors occur.
  3. Reboot again (you may need to reactivate the jailbreak).
  4. If needed, reinstall the items removed in step 1 according to your screenshot.

Attempt 5

Delete /var/mobile/Media/1ferver/caches/daemon_cache.db and reboot (you may need to reactivate the jailbreak).
